Winner of the Holberg Prize School Project
Dahlske Upper Secondary School won the Holberg Prize School Project 2017. Elvebakken Upper Secondary School got second place and Vestby Upper Secondary School got third place.
First Place to Dahlske Upper Secondary School

Aina Pedersen, Beate Haugen, Helene Storenes, Helene Storsæter amd Serina Hansen from Dahlske Upper Secondary School in Aust-Agder, won the Holberg Prize School Project 2017 with their project "Study Drugs. The Dark Side of Performance Culture?" ("Puggedop. Et nødvendig onde?") In the project, they explore why students use performance-enhancing drugs in education context.
Second Place to Elvebakken Upper Secondary School

Kanwarjot Kaur from Elvebakken Upper Secondary School came second with her project "Norway and the Curse of Resource Abundance." ("Norge og ressursenes forbannelse") where she discusses why Norway has avoided the problem of resource abundance.
Third Place to Vestby Upper Secondary School

Brynjar Morka Mæhlum from Vestby Upper Secondary School came third with his project "Am I Prepared for Higher Education?" ("Blir jeg studieforberedt?") where he examines the transition between upper secondary school and higher education with a special focus on the curriculum for Norwegian language and literacy courses in upper secondary school.
The Holberg Prize School Project
20 upper secondary schools and more than 800 students from all over Norway participate in the Holberg Prize School Project each year. The students are assisted by scholars and the projects are integrated into their regular curriculum. Three research projects are awarded prizes of NOK 30,000, NOK 20,000 and NOK 10,000, respectively.
The finalists are announced in mid May and the School Project Award Ceremony is held during the Holberg Week in early June each year.
